Mandy Parkin has taught Ha-tha yoga for over seventeen years and has offered holistic massage therapy since 1990. In 1995 she envisioned and opened The Lighthouse Whole Life Centre which served Nairobi with complementary therapies, yoga, T’ai Chi and a full programme of life-enhancing seminars and workshops for three years.
She has recently returned from yoga teacher training at the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, Ca. with a refreshingly new approach to her yoga practice.
She teaches on Mondays at 2.15 pm and Fridays at 7.30 am for a one hour each class at the Body Control Studio at the Karen Surgery on the Ngong Road, diagonally opposite The Talisman Restaurant. Courses are open to beginners and usually span a series of six classes which, paid in advance, are discounted – otherwise drop-in classes cost 750/-.
Mandy also teaches in Kyuna on Mondays at 6.15 for 75 minutes and charges 850/- per class, again with discount for advance payment. Private classes one-on-one, or for a group, can be arranged, for pregnant ladies, children and seniors also. Mandy also offers lifestyle consultations from her home in Karen, relaxing massage in your own home by arrangement and holds regular yoga retreats in various beautiful lodges around Kenya.
