Shilpa Shah
NLP Life Coach

Shilpa Shah is a Master NLP Practitioner, International Life Coach and a Management Trainer and Facilitator. She runs her own Coaching and Training Consultancy called “Inside Out” and is also an associate trainer with the British Council and MDF Eastern and Southern Africa. She has been teaching, training and coaching for 15 years. She has lived and worked in the UK, France, Thailand and Tanzania.

Her passion and her purpose is to help others develop themselves personally and professionally. Her role is to help others grow and discover their true potential at work and in life.

She says: “Because life and nature are forever changing, we need to be flexible and create our own changes to go with the flow of events rather than against it. NLP is about changing yourself and your world from the inside out.”
Apart from the life coaching, Shilpa runs professional development workshops for adults in business and communication skills. She also teaches English privately and teaches yoga from time to time.

What is coaching? “Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximize performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them”

What is NLP?

NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming.

Neuro – the mind and our levels of consciousness Linguistic – the verbal and non-verbal language we use to communicate with ourselves and others Programming – our `software`, the way we are ‘wired’, the way we sequence our actions to achieve our goals

Other definitions include:

“A toolkit for personal and organizational change”

“New Life Path”.

What is it used for?

  • individual coaching
  • group coaching
  • personal development
  • professional development

What is the role of a coach?

The coach

  • Guides the coachee towards their goal
  • Creates consciousness/awareness
  • Motivates the coachee to change
  • Empowers and encourages
  • Remains neutral (does not judge)
  • Treats the contents of each session as highly confidential
  • Creates a safe zone for the coachee to open up and share
  • Uses tools to help the coachee access their own unlimited potential

Why might I go for coaching?
There are many reasons why one may go for coaching. These may include:

  • To improve my performance at work or in a sport
  • To gain confidence for an exam or interview
  • To further my personal development
  • To improve my relationships with others
  • To get over a trauma/phobia or life change
  • To make an important decision
  • To change my behaviour
  • To find my own peace of mind
  • To motivate myself to change for the better
  • To enhance my own creativity in a project
  • To find out what makes me tick

How long does one session take?

A typical NLP session with Shilpa will take approx 1hour 30 minutes.

How often would I go for coaching?

The answer to this depends on your goals and what you want to achieve. Some clients go away very satisfied after just 2-3 sessions. Other clients prefer to come once a week/fortnight over a period of a few months as they set themselves and achieve new targets. Former clients often return when they need to explore a new issue that has cropped up or they have a key event coming up.
